Tommy Dreamer’s TNA exit is no longer just about one longtime wrestling name leaving the company. The bigger story now is that sources inside TNA believe the booking and creative were not good, and change was needed.

Dreamer recently said on Busted Open that he tried to build a culture in TNA, but that responsibility is no longer on him. He also said everyone will realize how much things change now that he is gone.

“It’s my job to get you where you wanna go and if another company doesn’t want you, then it’s my job to keep this place going — it’s not my job anymore — I tried building a culture and I can’t worry about that anymore, because it is all gonna change, and I hope everyone realizes how much it’s gonna change.”

Now, False Finish is pushing back with a very different version of what people inside TNA believe. According to their update, sources inside the company claim Dreamer’s comments are not accurate and that he had control over who got pushed.

“Sources inside TNA indicate to False Finish that Tommy Dreamer’s statements are not accurate. Dreamer did not want to build contenders and in fact had control of who got pushed.”

That is where this story really turns. The issue is not just Dreamer leaving. The issue is that people inside TNA apparently felt the creative direction was not working. With TNA moving toward a bigger platform on AMC, the feeling is that the company needed a better creative setup before taking that next step. False Finish added:

“The belief is that the culture will change for the better. The feeling is that the booking and creative wasn’t good and change was needed, especially with the bigger platform of AMC this year.”

Dreamer framed his departure as someone stepping away after trying to build a culture. The pushback from inside TNA paints it differently. Sources believe the company needed change because the booking and creative were not where they needed to be.

That makes Dreamer’s exit more than just another backstage shakeup. It could be part of TNA trying to clean up its creative direction. TNA has also been dealing with several notable departures lately, including Tessa Blanchard, Steve Maclin, Myla Grace, and others. Maclin already confirmed he requested his release before TNA announced that he and Grace were gone.

What do you think about TNA sources claiming the booking and creative were not good and change was needed after Tommy Dreamer’s exit? Do you think this reset will help the company before AMC, or is there more going on behind the scenes? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
