Thekla knows she probably picked the absolute worst moment possible to drop one of her favorite insults on live TV.

The AEW Women’s World Champion recently appeared on Close-Up with Renee Paquette and addressed the viral Dynamite segment where she marched through the crowd calling the AEW women’s roster “dumb b*tches” — while several confused little kids stood right beside her.

The clip instantly blew up online because of the children’s stunned reactions after hearing Thekla casually unload the line directly next to them. According to Thekla, she had no idea the kids were even there until she watched the segment back later. Then reality hit her.

“As I was walking down, I didn’t see the kids there, obviously. I was like, man, I’m a dumb b*tch for choosing that spot.”

Despite social media complaints from some fans afterward, Thekla revealed the parents of the children actually reached out to support her instead of getting angry.

“The dads were like, ‘no, it’s fine.’ They’re both Thekla fans.”

Thekla then admitted she has no idea why younger fans seem drawn to her chaotic personality and trash-talking promos.

“Little kids love me for some reason. I don’t know.”

The “dumb b*tches” line has quickly turned into one of Thekla’s signature catchphrases in AEW, and the awkward kid reactions only made the moment even more memorable online.

Thekla heads into AEW Double or Nothing this weekend defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida in a four-way match.
