Ressa Blanchard is out of TNA. Tommy Dreamer is gone. Sami Callihan got caught up in the company’s workforce reduction. And now Blanchard is showing love to both men after a brutal week of departures.
After securing her release from TNA, Blanchard took to social media and made it clear she has a ton of respect for Callihan and Dreamer, both of whom exited the company within the last 24 hours. When it came to Callihan, Blanchard made it clear she thinks wrestling companies should be lining up to bring him in.
“One of the most unique minds in all of wrestling.. nobody can do what he does. Any company would be lucky to have @TheSamiCallihan.”
She also praised Dreamer, who had been one of the leading voices behind TNA creative before his departure.
“@THETOMMYDREAMER is someone who has always believed in his people. I am so grateful to have shared the ring and worked with him.”
Those comments come after a rough week for TNA. Dreamer and the company mutually parted ways, while Callihan was let go during Anthem’s workforce reduction. Dreamer had worked alongside Delirious in creative, and Callihan had retired from the ring to become a producer while also helping with marketing and merchandise.
Blanchard’s own departure wasn’t because of bad blood. Speaking on CMLL Informa, she explained that TNA basically made her choose between the company and CMLL.
According to Blanchard, the decision came down to where she still had goals left to accomplish. She said she had already done everything she wanted to do in TNA, while she still has dreams she wants to chase in Mexico.
So while three big names are suddenly gone from TNA, there doesn’t seem to be much bitterness between them. In fact, Blanchard made sure to publicly give flowers to Dreamer and Callihan on her way out. The departures continue to pile up, but at least one thing is clear: Tessa Blanchard thinks both men deserve another shot somewhere else.
