TNA’s backstage situation just took another hit as Sami Callihan has also parted ways with the company today.
The company was already dealing with Tommy Dreamer leaving his head of creative role, and Delirious is now the main creative voice moving forward. But before the dust could even settle, another familiar name is apparently gone.
According to PWInsider, the word making the rounds is that Sami Callihan has parted ways with the company. That’s not a small exit, either. Callihan had been working backstage as a producer after retiring from in-ring competition last summer, so this is another behind-the-scenes loss at a pretty awkward time for the company.
The timing is rough. TNA is heading toward Slammiversary, one of its biggest shows of the year, while the creative side is already shifting around after Dreamer’s exit. Losing Callihan now only adds more noise to an already busy stretch.
This also keeps the departure list growing. Tessa Blanchard was granted her release earlier this week. Steve Maclin was granted his release earlier this month. Myla Grace and Dani Luna also exited earlier this year.
Bottom line, TNA Wrestling is not just changing one name on the creative board. The company is going through a real shakeup, and Sami Callihan leaving makes that even harder to ignore.
