Tessa Blanchard is finally heading to Major League Wrestling after her first attempt to join the promotion went sideways. The former TNA World Champion appeared on the October 7 episode of CMLL Informa, where it was revealed that she will compete for MLW at Saturday Night SuperFight on November 7.

This isn’t the first time Blanchard has been lined up for an MLW appearance. Ringside News previously covered MLW entering talks with Blanchard following her TNA departure, with the two sides appearing to be moving toward something bigger than a random one-night appearance.

MLW then started openly teasing Blanchard’s arrival. The company even released a “Coming Soon” teaser for her, seemingly putting everything in place for her to become part of the promotion.

Then things got weird. Blanchard had been scheduled to appear for MLW in September, but her name suddenly disappeared from MLW’s promotional material before she ever made it to the show.

The issue appeared to involve CMLL, where Blanchard has been working extensively. Ringside News later covered the circumstances surrounding the scrapped MLW debut, including questions about whether CMLL was happy with the way Blanchard’s MLW involvement was being presented.

That made the whole situation even stranger because Blanchard wasn’t simply being discussed for a quick cameo. Original plans for her MLW run included a possible storyline involving the women’s division, meaning there was apparently a lot more on the table before everything suddenly stopped.

Now the door is back open. Blanchard will appear at MLW Saturday Night SuperFight on November 7, giving the company another chance to launch the relationship that was supposed to begin months earlier. The event is one of MLW’s bigger shows, so this isn’t exactly a quiet way to finally bring her in.

Blanchard has also been rebuilding her career since leaving TNA. She was released from her TNA deal earlier this year, despite still having significant time remaining on the agreement, which immediately opened the door for her to work elsewhere.

After one false start, Blanchard and MLW are apparently ready to try this again. The November 7 appearance should finally answer whether this is just one night of business or whether MLW still sees Blanchard as someone who can become a major part of its women’s division.

What do you think about Tessa Blanchard finally making her MLW debut after the first attempt fell apart? Do you want to see her stick around in MLW full-time? Let us know your thoughts and feedback in the comments.
