New details have emerged surrounding the death of PAC, this time through the release of the 911 call made by the woman who first found him unresponsive in his vehicle.
Back on October 5, a police report helped fill in some of the timeline leading up to Benjamin Satterley’s passing, revealing that authorities found him inside a rental vehicle with Google Maps directing him to Chicago O’Hare International Airport and no immediate signs of foul play.
Now, according to TMZ, newly obtained 911 audio provides a heartbreaking account of the moments before first responders arrived. The call was placed on September 27 at approximately 3:53 p.m., about 15 minutes before Satterley was officially pronounced dead.
The caller initially believed the person inside the running vehicle was a woman because of Satterley’s long hair, but quickly corrected herself after getting a closer look.
“I’m at the CAVA on Mannheim Road in Des Plaines and I was getting in my car and the person next to me is passed out in their car. I don’t know. She doesn’t look too well and her car is running. It’s a man, I’m sorry.”
As the call continued, the woman explained that she and several others had spent several minutes trying to get Satterley’s attention without any success. She described him as completely unresponsive and said she believed he was no longer breathing.
“We’ve been banging on the window for I want to say, like, five minutes now. His face is, like, straight down. Apparently their eyes are open, too. I don’t see his chest moving at all.”
First responders arrived shortly afterwards and attempted life-saving measures, but Satterley was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m. Police later reported there were no visible injuries or suspicious markings beyond what appeared to be saliva on the front of his shirt. Investigators also found medication inside the vehicle, although the type was redacted from the public report.
The incident report also confirmed Satterley’s phone still had Google Maps open with directions to O’Hare Airport, while a woman contacted through his phone told officers he had planned to stop at CAVA for lunch before catching a delayed flight back to the United Kingdom.
Although the newly released 911 audio offers a clearer picture of the final moments before emergency crews arrived, it still doesn’t answer the biggest remaining question. Satterley’s official cause of death remains pending as the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office continues additional testing.
