El Cuatrero may be appealing a 12-year, 8-month prison sentence, but that is not stopping him from getting back in the ring.
According to Marcrix News, Cuatrero has been cleared to resume his professional wrestling career while remaining under judicial supervision. That means the former AAA star can continue accepting bookings even as he fights the conviction for attempted femicide and domestic violence involving his former partner, Stephanie Vaquer.
Under the terms of his release, Cuatrero must regularly report details about his appearances, including the venues where he will wrestle and his schedule. One major restriction remains firmly in place: he is prohibited from participating in any event where Vaquer is present.
That condition effectively prevents Cuatrero from appearing on the same cards as Vaquer, whether the event is promoted by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, WWE, or any other promotion.
This comes after Cuatrero was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison but was allowed to remain free on bail while his legal team appeals the verdict. That appeals process could take months or even more than a year to conclude. During that time, Cuatrero remains under court-ordered supervision, but he is still legally allowed to work as a professional wrestler as long as he follows all imposed conditions.
The case stems from a March 2023 incident in Mexico City, where prosecutors accused Cuatrero of attempting to strangle Vaquer. He was ultimately found guilty of attempted femicide and domestic violence, though the conviction is now under appeal.
For now, Cuatrero is convicted, sentenced, and still active in wrestling. The biggest limitation is that he cannot appear at any event where Stephanie Vaquer is scheduled to be.
