Stephanie Vaquer is heading into WrestleMania 42 as Women’s World Champion—but La Primera just revealed she won’t be at full strength.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on April 14, 2026, Vaquer provided a detailed look at her condition just days before defending her title against Liv Morgan. While she shut down concerns about a major injury, she admitted the physical toll of her career is catching up to her in a very real way.

“Am I hurting? If you talk about injuries, no—I’m good. But after 12 years of my career, my body hurts, so I do need to recover, but I don’t have injuries.”

That distinction is key—Vaquer isn’t sidelined, but she’s also not at peak condition. Instead, she’s dealing with accumulated wear and tear from years in the ring, something she made clear is affecting her heading into WrestleMania: “I’m not really at 100% for WrestleMania 42. I still need to recover from many little things in my body, but I don’t have an injury.”

This becomes even more significant when factoring in her recent history. Vaquer has already dealt with injuries this year, including an ankle issue back in January. Now, even if that specific injury isn’t currently limiting her, she admitted her ankle—and knee—are still areas where she needs more recovery time.

“I’m always training, but not like before because I don’t have time. Sometimes I’m so tired, sometimes I need to recover—like my ankle and knee—I need more time.”

La Primera also pointed to WWE’s demanding schedule as a major factor. Even with built-in rest days, the constant travel and performance expectations are taking a toll. Despite that, Vaquer isn’t making excuses, admitting that she needs to take care of her body more.

“The time here is so… we now have to stop, have a day off. It’s good, but at the same time my body feels hurt, and that’s normal since I’m a pro wrestler. But yeah, sometimes I think I do need to take care of my body more.”

Heading into WrestleMania 42, this creates a very real storyline beyond the title itself. Vaquer will be defending the Women’s World Championship against a fully motivated Liv Morgan, and doing so while less than 100% could become a deciding factor. There’s no injury stopping her—but the accumulation of fatigue, lingering soreness, and limited recovery time could shape how this match plays out at WrestleMania.

Do you think Stephanie Vaquer being less than 100% gives Liv Morgan an edge at WrestleMania 42, or can the champion still overcome the physical toll and retain her title? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback.
