WWE is apparently saving the biggest fight of the night for last on the September 14 episode of Monday Night RAW — because Roman Reigns vs. Penta is currently slated to close the show in Mexico City.
According to Viper Reports, the early rundown has the World Heavyweight Championship match between Reigns and Penta in the closing slot at Arena CDMX. This is still an early rundown, so plans can change before RAW goes live.
That puts WWE’s biggest advertised match exactly where you’d expect it. Penta earned the shot after winning the tournament to become the new No. 1 contender, and now he gets Roman Reigns with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line in front of a Mexico City crowd that should be absolutely molten for this one.
RAW already has a loaded card with Chad Gable defending the Intercontinental Championship against Dragon Lee, two Money in the Bank qualifying matches, and Stephanie Vaquer appearing after winning the Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan in Chile. Rey Mysterio is also currently slated to open the show, meaning WWE has the night bookended with two huge names if the rundown holds.
The confirmed lineup for the September 14 WWE RAW currently includes:
- WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Penta
- Intercontinental Championship: Chad Gable (c) vs. Dragon Lee
- Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Je’Von Evans vs. Austin Theory vs. Big Cass
- Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: Kelani Jordan vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Lola Vice
- Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer to appear
- Rey Mysterio currently slated to open the show
- Roman Reigns vs. Penta currently slated to close the show
Again, this comes from the early rundown and plans can change before bell time, but as of now WWE is looking to end the night with Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta.
