WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter could be headed to the big screen after a casting call tied to a movie project began making the rounds online.
Roy Lucier shared the casting notice on social media, and wrestling fans immediately noticed the description sounded heavily inspired by Slaughter’s iconic military persona from WWE. The listing is searching for a lead actor to portray:
“A memorable and sadistic military figure in a gripping narrative.”
The description also says the role requires someone capable of delivering “chilling menace” and creating a character audiences will never forget. According to the casting notice, the lead role pays $1,000 per day.
Sgt. Slaughter became one of WWE’s defining stars during the 1980s and early 1990s with his military gimmick, intense promos and larger-than-life character work. He later generated massive controversy during his Iraqi sympathizer storyline in 1990 before returning during the Attitude Era as WWE Commissioner. The WWE Hall of Famer is also a former WWE Champion and remains one of the most recognizable wrestling personalities of his era.
No official casting announcements, production details or release information have been revealed yet for the project.
Ringside News will continue providing updates as more information on the Sgt. Slaughter movie becomes available.
