Brian Myers got a close-up look at what made Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson different from almost everybody else in professional wrestling.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Myers opened up about helping train The Rock for his WWE return, and one detail immediately stood out to him.

According to Myers, The Rock would literally predict crowd reactions while calling spots during training sessions. Brian Myers explained that WWE selected him and Joe Hennig to personally work with The Rock during his comeback preparation, and the experience quickly became surreal. While describing Rock’s ring awareness, Myers shared the moment that completely blew his mind.

“He would like call spots but then like call the pop that he was going to get from doing said thing.”

Myers said The Rock wasn’t just thinking about the move itself — he was already calculating how long the audience reaction would last.

“He’s measuring like how much time to take because he knows the people are going to be going apeshit for him cuz he’s so awesome.”

The training setup itself sounded unreal. According to Myers, WWE would fly him and Hennig all over depending on where The Rock was filming movies at the time. WWE rings would be set up in different locations so Johnson could train whenever his schedule allowed. Myers also admitted being around The Rock instantly showed him why Johnson became one of the biggest stars in entertainment.

“They would set up a WWE ring wherever he was filming whatever in all these different spots.”

“He couldn’t have been cooler, man.”

He continued by praising Rock’s professionalism and charisma behind the scenes. Brian Myers added that Rock’s presence immediately stood out. He later explained exactly what impressed him the most.

“He’s one of those people like I was around him and you’re like this is why this guy is so successful.

“You just see it in him.”

“The way he treats people, the way he carried himself, the things he cared about.”

The Rock has spent decades mastering audience psychology inside WWE, and Myers’ story gives fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at just how deeply Johnson understood crowd reactions during his comeback run.
