Ric Flair is trying to move past a rough few days online, and he just made it clear that Kid Rock still has his back.
After dealing with backlash over his recent posts about David Flair and later revealing that he was focusing on his health, Flair took to Instagram to share a lighter update. The WWE Hall of Famer linked up with Kid Rock and joked that at least one person still likes him after all the drama: “At Least @kidrock Still Likes Me! WOOOOO!”
The post came after Flair tried to cool things down from the family drama that had taken over his social media. The WWE Hall of Famer previously shared that he had been dealing with health issues and apologized for his frustration after posting a photo outside a hospital emergency room.
“If you understood the health issues that I deal with and am currently dealing with, you would understand why I get frustrated in life with a lot of people. I’m sorry for the frustration. I am taking time to focus on my health.”
Flair also posted a screenshot from Apple’s Health app showing a latest heart rate of 100 BPM, a resting heart rate of 98 BPM, and a walking average of 101 BPM. He did not reveal a specific diagnosis, but the post showed that his health was part of what he said had been fueling his frustration.
Before the health update, Flair had posted several messages aimed at David Flair. At one point, it looked like he was threatening legal action over the Flair name, but he later walked that back. Flair still made it clear he was upset with David and told him to stop leaning on the Flair name.
“I’m Obviously Not Suing My Son. Just Reminding Him That You Can’t Have The Best Of Both Worlds! Use Your God Given Name, Fliehr, Which Isn’t Worth A Cup Of Coffee. Or Your Wife’s Name, Who Has Had 3 Generations Of Success. Also, Please Don’t Sell My Robes That I Let You Use During Your Career As You Have Already Sold One. You’re 47 Years Old… Now Stand On Your Own Two Feet Please.”
The situation became even more personal when Flair claimed that his relationship with David had been damaged for nearly a decade. Before naming David directly, Flair had also warned that someone familiar to him was allegedly using his trademark.
“The Relationship Was Gone 9 Years Ago… I’m Sorry & Sad That It Has Come To This. I’ve Tried My Best To Fix Things Over The Years Only To Be Rejected Because Your Wife Runs Your Life. Unfortunately, There Is Someone That I’m Very Familiar With Using My Own Trademark FLAIR.”
Flair may be stepping away from the harsher family comments, but the situation clearly left a mark. Between the health scare and public tension with David, The Nature Boy’s latest Instagram post shows he is trying to move forward with at least one famous friend still by his side.
