Rey Fenix is undoubtedly one of the top stars in AEW right now being the AEW International Champion. He was removed from his match at AEW WrestleDream last night and the reason for that seems to be due to a nagging injury he suffered at AEW All In.
AEW WrestleDream was a big event and it featured numerous matches for fans in attendance, including the #1 contender match for the AEW Tag Team Titles. During the match, Rey Fenix was taken to the back, and Penta had to go it alone after that.
Rey Fenix took to his Instagram today and shed light on his physical well-being, as Fenix revealed that he has been dealing with a nagging injury since AEW All In back in August. That said, Fenix added that he will do his best to continue being a fighting champion.
The international championship has been a big challenge. The night I became champion, I left the arena with the championship in my hands and with an old injury bothering me again. My first defense was painful, it did not allow the pain to stop me and continue until the fight was over, this coming Wednesday will be my second defense and I am doing my best to enter that ring and retain the champion. I will defend this beautiful championship in any situation, a Luchador does not give up, a Luchador will always leave everything in every battle. I am a real Luchador and the man of a thousand lives, nothing and no one is going to stop me. R3Y F3N1X 👑🇲🇽 #Animo #MexaKing #LuchaBrothers #LuchaLibre #ProWrestling
As previously reported, Rey Fenix was meant to be pulled out of the AEW WrestleDream match early as he was hurting. We’ll have to see when he will be able to recover in time for AEW Dynamite this Wednesday.
