2 Cold Scorpio’s criminal case just took another serious turn. Weeks after the former WWE, WCW and ECW star struck a plea deal, prosecutors in Kansas City, Missouri are now asking the court to revoke his bond and put him behind bars before sentencing.
Prosecutors filed the motion on September 9 seeking to have Charles “2 Cold Scorpio” Scaggs’ bond revoked. A hearing on the request is now scheduled for September 17 at 3 p.m. local time.
The biggest question right now is why. Scaggs already pleaded guilty last month to second-degree assault and armed criminal action as part of a deal that kept the case from going to trial, but prosecutors have not publicly disclosed what prompted this new request to have him jailed. Scaggs remains scheduled to be sentenced on October 9 at 3 p.m. local time.
The development comes only weeks after Ringside News covered Scorpio returning to the ring while awaiting sentencing. That return followed the plea agreement that reduced the assault charge he had originally been facing.
The criminal case stems from a June 15, 2024 confrontation at a Love’s Travel Stop in Kansas City, where Scaggs was working as a security guard. Ringside News previously covered his arrest following the incident. Police said the other man suffered multiple cut and stab wounds and was taken to a hospital, while Scaggs told authorities that he acted in self-defense.
Scaggs was initially charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. The case then dragged through the court system for more than two years, including multiple delays, before he eventually pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and armed criminal action.
Now the situation has changed again. Instead of simply waiting for his October sentencing date while out on bond, Scorpio could potentially find himself in custody much sooner if the judge grants the prosecution’s request. Until the September 17 hearing, there is still a major piece missing from the story — exactly what happened that made prosecutors suddenly push to have his bond revoked after the plea deal was already in place.
Whatever the reason turns out to be, Scorpio’s legal situation is clearly getting more serious just weeks before sentencing, and the upcoming bond hearing could determine whether he remains free until October or waits for his sentence from behind bars.
