Former WWE, WCW and ECW star Charles “2 Cold Scorpio” Scaggs has struck a plea deal in his criminal case. The 60-year-old wrestler, also known to fans as Flash Funk, pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree assault and armed criminal action, keeping the case from going before a jury.
Scaggs had originally been charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action in Kansas City, Missouri. His trial was set to begin Monday, but the reduced charge and guilty plea brought that process to an immediate end.He is now scheduled to be formally sentenced on October 9 at 3 p.m. local time.
The case dates back to June 15, 2024, when Scaggs was working security at a Love’s Travel Stop. Authorities accused him of getting into a physical confrontation with another man, leading to his arrest and the criminal charges that followed.
The case spent more than two years moving through the court system and was delayed several times before the plea agreement was reached.
One major delay came in October 2025, when prosecutors told the court they had only recently learned the identity of the person who recorded video of the incident. Prosecutors already knew the footage existed, but they requested more time to interview and depose the person behind the camera after Scaggs’ legal team revealed the individual’s identity.
The judge granted that request. Another delay was later approved after Scaggs’ defense attorneys asked for additional time.
Scaggs will now wait until October to learn his sentence. The plea deal eliminates the risk of a trial on the original first-degree assault charge, but the longtime wrestling veteran still faces sentencing after admitting guilt to the reduced assault charge and armed criminal action.
