Jim Ross is finally getting some good news after spending more than a month in the hospital.

The WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator took to Twitter and revealed that he is being released from the hospital and heading home after more than 30 days under medical care. After weeks of rough updates, that is the kind of message fans were waiting to see from Good Ol’ JR.

“Heading home tomorrow! Over 30 days in the hospital come to a grateful end. Count your blessings daily.”

Ross had previously told fans he was on day 22 of his hospital stay in Norman, Oklahoma, while watching the College World Series. Even then, he made it clear he was not giving up.

“Day 22 in the hospital in Norman. Watching @CWSOmaha with my @soonerbaseball. Thanks for everyone’s kind thoughts and prayers. Don’t count me out just yet. I’m still fighting!”

This whole stretch came after a nasty run of health problems, including a fall at home that caused him to miss a flight before AEW Double or Nothing. Ross later made it to New York to call Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly, but the trip got worse when his back went out at the hotel.

“So I had the alarm set, the driver’s going to pick me up, and all of a sudden I fell. I hadn’t had a fall in weeks, so I fell and busted my ass. If I had my phone with me, I could’ve gotten help. So as a result of that, I missed my flight.

Then I got to my room on Saturday night, and as you can see, I’m still leery. So I laid on the bed and put my ass on the edge of the bed and just relaxed. But little did I know my back was going to go out on me. So now I’m in the hotel with my back out, and I can’t function. So it was just a horrible experience. And I flew back home on Monday night—but boy, I suffered for a while.”

Ross has also been open about doctors monitoring him for serious long-term concerns, including possible dementia or Alzheimer’s, though he previously said he felt good overall while going through tests.

“They’re worried about dementia or Alzheimer’s, and I’m like, ‘What the hell are you gonna do about it? There’s not a cure.’ If there’s any medicine I should be taking preventatively, tell me what they are and I’ll do it. But you know, we’ll see how it works out. I’m going through a lot of tests. I don’t feel bad at all—I feel great, actually. But you know, getting old is a b*.”*

Bottom line, after more than a month in the hospital, Ross finally gets to go home. That does not erase everything he has been dealing with, but it is a huge step in the right direction for one of wrestling’s most beloved voices.
