Nikki Bella isn’t apologizing for turning on Paige at SummerSlam. In fact, if you ask the WWE Hall of Famer, Paige deserved every bit of it.
Just hours after The Bella Twins shocked the WWE Universe by laying out their longtime ally following their loss to Fatal Influence, Nikki appeared on Busted Open Radio and wasted no time defending her actions. Rather than showing any regret, she made it clear she’s done putting other people ahead of herself.
“We have the same vibes. The fans feel me. Sometimes you just get sick of things. I mean, don’t you guys think she deserved what she got?”
Nikki admitted she’s reached a point in her career where she’s focused on checking off the final goals on her WWE bucket list before eventually walking away from the business. One of those goals? Winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Brie Bella. According to Nikki, that’s exactly why everything changed.
“I’m sick of a lot of shit, let me tell you. But, you know, it’s very hard when you hit a certain part of your legacy and you have certain things you want to check off before you call it for good. Being a Tag Team Champion with my sister was one of those. I worked really hard.”
She then revealed what finally pushed her over the edge. As Paige and Brie grew closer over the past few months, Nikki admitted she couldn’t stand watching it happen.
“When Brie came in, Paige came in and thought it was a good thing. Then I sat back and watched them the past 3-4 months really connect, and it just didn’t make me happy.”
From Nikki’s perspective, the attack wasn’t personal. It was necessary. She explained that sometimes getting where you want to go means removing the people standing in your way—even if they’re supposed to be your friends.
“You know, there are certain ways to get ahead. It is bullshit. When you really want to achieve something, sometimes you just gotta pick people out of your way to get there.”
And if there’s still any doubt that Nikki has embraced being the bad guy again, she erased it with one final statement. She made it clear Paige absolutely deserved it, and she didn’t regret attacking Paige at all.
“No, I don’t mind. I’ll crush people on that ladder, pick ’em right off. It’s just naturally me. It’s who I am and where I thrive. For me, it was the right decision, and in this industry, let’s take personal out of it, let’s talk about business. For me, last night was business. For me to continue to succeed and actually go on one or two more championship runs before I call it quits, I had to get the b**** out of my way. So that’s what I did, and I don’t regret it. It felt really good. It’s not gonna stop.”
The comments come after one of the biggest betrayals of SummerSlam. Following their loss to Fatal Influence, Paige appeared to be regrouping with Nikki and Brie Bella inside the ring before Nikki suddenly blasted her with a forearm. The Bella Twins then swarmed Paige together, officially turning heel in front of the SummerSlam crowd. Paige has already fired back on social media with a blunt warning of her own, posting: “Oh you f***** up.”
With Nikki showing absolutely no remorse and Paige promising revenge, it doesn’t look like this rivalry is slowing down anytime soon.
