Mick Foley’s arrival at AEW Double or Nothing was apparently not designed to be a one-off appearance, as plans for the WWE Hall of Famer’s involvement with Tony Khan’s company have now been revealed.

Foley made his AEW debut during the Double or Nothing kickoff show at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, where he appeared alongside Renee Paquette to preview the pay-per-view card. The appearance quickly became more than a simple guest spot when Foley became involved with MJF ahead of his AEW World Championship vs. Hair Match against Darby Allin.

While discussing the match, Foley predicted that MJF would lose his hair, telling him that since he had wavy hair, he should prepare to “wave it goodbye.” MJF responded by kicking Foley below the belt before Darby Allin came down to chase him away.

Sean Ross Sapp revealed during a Fightful Select Q&A that Foley is now officially signed to AEW and is expected to be used regularly on major events and television moving forward.

“Yes, he is signed to the company officially. He is, he is on the roster. They expect him to work all the pay-per-view shows moving forward and some TV for the foreseeable future. So there is a working agreement between the two sides. John Alba did a great job reporting on this and AEW has held an interest for quite a while. So when he was able to sign, they made it happen.”

Sapp’s update makes it clear that Foley’s Double or Nothing debut was the beginning of an ongoing AEW role. Rather than appearing for a single pay-per-view weekend, Foley is expected to be involved with AEW’s pay-per-view shows moving forward while also making television appearances for the foreseeable future.

Foley’s first night with the company also immediately placed him opposite MJF, leaving AEW with a built-in storyline should it decide to continue that rivalry on future shows. Sapp later noted that a possible final Foley match involving MJF could be on the table, but the confirmed update is that Foley is expected to remain part of AEW’s pay-per-view and television plans.

Foley’s arrival already gave Double or Nothing a memorable opening surprise, but his expected involvement on future AEW pay-per-views and television shows signals that fans will be seeing much more of Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy in the company. What do you think AEW should have Mick Foley do during his run with the company?
