Mick Foley has now officially addressed his upcoming AEW debut for the first time — and he sounds genuinely excited about entering the company.

After Tony Khan announced that Foley would appear during AEW Double or Nothing 2026 weekend programming, the WWE Hall of Famer took to Instagram on and broke his silence about joining AEW.

Foley confirmed that he will be part of the Double or Nothing Buy In pre-show alongside Renee Paquette while also expressing excitement about finally meeting the AEW roster and reconnecting with Khan after many years.

“FOLEY IS ALL ELITE! I am extremely happy to be making my debut with @aew – joining @reneepaquette on the #DoubleOrNothing pre-show.”

The Hardcore Legend also revealed that he and Khan actually crossed paths long before AEW ever existed, making it clear he’s looking forward to meeting Tony Khan and the AEW roster.

“Looking forward to seeing @tonyrkhan for the first time in many years (we had lunch fifteen years ago) and meeting up with AEW’s amazing roster.”

The announcement comes only days after reports surfaced claiming AEW had legitimate interest in working with Foley as his WWE Legends contract nears expiration. Khan originally confirmed Foley’s arrival by announcing him as Renee Paquette’s co-host for the Buy In special while referencing Foley’s classic WCW run as Cactus Jack: “Foley’s coming back to TBS, where he ran wild as Cactus Jack!”

Foley’s AEW debut is especially notable because he has never previously appeared for the company despite years of speculation and mutual praise between both sides.

Now, Foley is officially heading into AEW for the first time ever, and based on his comments, this appears to be something he is genuinely enthusiastic about rather than simply making a quick cameo appearance.

Do you think Mick Foley should eventually become an on-screen character in AEW storylines, or is he best used in occasional special appearances like Double or Nothing weekend? Let us know in the comments.
