Mercedes Moné just gave Bayley-to-AEW speculation another push, and she did it in front of a crowd at the All In afterparty. After previously admitting she wants another match with her longtime rival, Moné played Bayley’s old “Hugger” entrance theme before asking fans who they want to see in AEW.
Footage making the rounds online shows Moné behind the DJ booth during the AEW All In afterparty when Bayley’s familiar entrance music suddenly started playing. Moné didn’t exactly leave fans wondering why she picked that particular song. With Bayley’s theme playing, she turned the attention to AEW’s roster and threw a very interesting question at the crowd.
“Who do you guys wanna see in AEW?”
Moné never actually said Bayley’s name, but she probably didn’t need to. Playing Bayley’s old WWE entrance theme immediately before asking who fans want to see in AEW was enough to get people talking, especially considering everything that has already been happening around Bayley’s future.
The moment also comes shortly after Moné openly admitted that getting back in the ring with Bayley remains one of her dream matches. When asked by the Daily Star whether fans could ever see them wrestle again, Moné wouldn’t make any promises. She did, however, make it very clear that she wants it to happen.
“You never know in wrestling. That’s always, um, a dream match for me too, is to have another match with her. She is, uh, one of my greatest opponents of all time.”
There’s also been plenty coming from Bayley’s side to keep people guessing. Bayley previously posted a training video featuring Moné with the caption “all or nothing, baby” while using a song called “All In.” That raised some eyebrows inside WWE, although there still hasn’t been any confirmation that Bayley is actually heading to AEW.
Moné certainly didn’t provide that confirmation at the afterparty either. She never named Bayley, and playing her theme doesn’t mean anything has been agreed upon. Still, playing the “Hugger” theme and immediately asking fans who they want in AEW is about as loud as Moné could get without actually saying Bayley’s name.
