Bayley’s cryptic social media game apparently isn’t amusing everyone in WWE. While there still isn’t a substantial update on her contract status, that training video with Mercedes Moné raised some eyebrows backstage.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Bayley’s video from last week “did not land well with everyone” in WWE. The footage showed Bayley training at different locations with several wrestlers, including Mercedes, and some people backstage reportedly viewed the whole thing as “eyebrow-raising.”
It’s not particularly difficult to figure out what caught their attention. Bayley posted the video on August 9 with the caption “all or nothing, baby.” Then she used a song called “All In.” Throw Mercedes into the footage while Bayley’s WWE future is already being questioned, and wrestling fans immediately started connecting some pretty obvious AEW-shaped dots.
Apparently, WWE noticed them too. That doesn’t mean Bayley is suddenly heading to AEW. In fact, the latest report specifically notes that there isn’t a substantial update on her WWE contract status, and Bryan Alvarez recently said people he spoke with inside AEW were just as confused about the apparent teases.
“I can tell you, at least among those in AEW, first off, everyone I talked to is also baffled by this thing.”
More importantly, Alvarez said the belief within AEW was that Bayley’s WWE deal could potentially run until January, especially depending on whether additional time is added.
“The belief is her deal is not up for a while, maybe as long as January, and that is if they don’t add any time. Long story short, she won’t be at All In.”
That makes the entire situation even stranger. We had previously reported that Bayley hasn’t signed a new WWE contract and still has a decision to make. Meanwhile, WWE already has her off television after Lyra Valkyria left her lying at Madison Square Garden and later claimed she had “run Bayley out of here.”
So Bayley hasn’t announced she’s leaving, AEW reportedly isn’t expecting her at All In and there’s no major new development with her contract.
But posting herself training with Mercedes while throwing “All or Nothing” and “All In” into the mix apparently got exactly the kind of attention you’d expect. Fans raised their eyebrows—and according to WrestleVotes, some people backstage in WWE did too.
Whether Bayley was dropping breadcrumbs or just enjoying watching everyone lose their minds over a social media post is another story.
