Mercedes Moné didn’t just win the Owen Hart Cup again. She logged onto X and started swinging.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 went down at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, where Moné defeated Maya World in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final. The win gives Mercedes the tournament victory for the second year in a row, and now she has another shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In.
Maya World gave Mercedes a fight and had the crowd behind her, especially after kicking out of the Money Maker. She even trapped Moné in the Statement Maker at one point, but Mercedes flipped things around and forced Maya to tap out to the same hold. After the match, Maya World posted a short message about what happened.
“rookie mistake.”
Mercedes wasted no time quote-tweeting that and rubbing the win in her face.
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAJAJAJAJA….And now you know 🤫🏆 #2timeowencupwinner”
That wasn’t the only person Moné fired at after the win. Willow Nightingale also showed support for Maya World by repeating an old message she had posted in 2025, where she told Maya that the world was hers. Willow posted: Mercedes saw that and told her exactly how she felt.
“STFU🤫”
Then Moné turned her attention to the current AEW Women’s World Champion, Thekla. Thekla had posted a photo of herself with the title, and Mercedes responded with a simple warning.
“🤫🏆”
That one was easy to read. Mercedes has her All In title shot now, and Thekla is the woman holding the belt. Then, for some reason, Mercedes also brought Dave Meltzer into the mix.
“😝👏🤣 @davemeltzerWON 🤫🏆”
So yeah, Mercedes Moné won the Owen Hart Cup again, got her All In title shot, mocked Maya World, told Willow Nightingale to shut up, stared down Thekla online, and randomly tossed Dave Meltzer into the party. That is a busy night even by Mercedes standards.
Moné is now a two-time Owen Hart Cup winner, and the target is obvious. She failed to win the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In last year, but now she gets another chance. This time, she is already acting like the title is just waiting for her.
What do you think about Mercedes Moné’s posts after winning the Owen Hart Cup again? Was she just celebrating, or did she go too far with Maya World and Willow Nightingale? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
