The confusion surrounding Mance Warner missing an upcoming AAW Wrestling event has now taken another turn — because Warner himself is publicly stepping in to clear the air after Tony Khan denied AEW had anything to do with it.

Mance Warner is now clearing the air after confusion exploded over his removal from AAW Wrestling’s Homecoming event. Warner publicly addressed the situation after AAW initially claimed he would no longer appear “per AEW’s request.” Tony Khan quickly denied that, saying nobody in AEW’s office had heard anything about pulling Warner from the show.

Warner took to Twitter and has now confirmed AEW did not ask him to withdraw from the booking. Warner then explained that the issue was tied to the booking itself, saying his rate had not been agreed upon and that he personally sent money to cover flight costs.

“Want to clarify this situation. AEW did not ask me to pull out of this show. my rate was never agreed upon
-I sent $400 to the promoter to cover the flight costs”

Warner apologized to anyone who expected to see him at AAW, but said he made the decision himself because he did not want any travel problems or booking confusion to risk a bigger opportunity.

“I am sorry to any fans who were looking forward to seeing me at AAW. With transparency, I made a decision to withdraw from the show to avoid any % chance of travel issues or any fuck ups ruining a big opportunity. I hope y’all can understand”

The clarification comes after AAW announced Warner would not appear at Homecoming and directly blamed AEW.

“Mance Warner will unfortunately NOT be appearing at #AAWHomecoming per AEW’s request.”

Khan then pushed back publicly and said Warner was free to work the event.

“That’s the first that I’ve heard of this, and it’s the first time anyone in AEW’s office has heard of it. He is welcome to do your show.”

Warner’s statement now makes the situation much clearer. AEW did not pull him, Khan denied the claim, and Warner says he personally chose to withdraw because the details were not locked in and he wanted to avoid any potential issues.
