Lyra Valkyria isn’t looking back after Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Just days after forcing Bayley to pass out before launching a vicious post-match attack, Lyra celebrated the biggest victory of her recent WWE run with a bold message, making it clear she believes she never needed either Bayley or Becky Lynch to reach the top. WWE took to Twitter and shared a backstage video following the event, where an emotional Lyra reflected on the win.
“I did it. Oh, this feels so good. This might be the best I’ve felt in my entire life.”
She then turned her attention to the two women who have played major roles in her WWE journey, insisting that she succeeded on her own.
“I never needed Bayley. I never needed Becky. On our own is the way to go, and now the only place that’s left to go is straight to the top.”
The comments came after one of the most physical matches on Saturday Night’s Main Event. Bayley refused to stay down, but Lyra eventually trapped her in a bulldog choke until the referee was forced to stop the match. Even after the bell rang, Lyra wasn’t finished. She continued the assault outside the ring before driving Bayley into the steel steps with a Night Wing, leaving her laid out as the show moved on.
While Lyra was celebrating backstage, Bayley’s latest defeat led to plenty of debate among fans online. Many questioned WWE’s continued booking of the former Women’s Champion, arguing that she has become a stepping stone despite her decorated career.
Lyra, however, doesn’t appear interested in that at all. After defeating Bayley in dominant fashion, she’s made it clear she believes she’s ready to leave both Bayley and Becky Lynch behind and chase even bigger opportunities in WWE.
