Bayley didn’t just lose at Saturday Night’s Main Event. According to a lot of WWE fans, she lost something else too—the little momentum she had left.
After Lyra Valkyria defeated Bayley by referee stoppage before attacking her again after the bell, social media quickly filled with frustrated fans questioning why WWE continues to book one of its most accomplished stars as someone who can’t seem to win the matches that matter.
One fan summed up the mood with a simple question: “Why can’t they ever book Bayley to win?” That frustration only grew as more reactions poured in. Another fan argued that Bayley deserves far better than what she’s currently getting.
“I’m so sick of WWE treating Bayley like she’s nothing. Bayley should have won this, not Lyra. Bayley needs to go to a company that knows her worth.”
Others weren’t just upset about this match. They saw it as part of a much bigger pattern: “Once again Bayley jobs to another one. I hope she leaves the WWE and the s*** ass booking.” Another fan echoed that sentiment, claiming WWE has reduced a former Women’s Champion to little more than a launching pad for everyone else.
“So Bayley is just a stepping stone now. WWE has no idea what they are doing.”
The reaction comes after a brutal match that saw Bayley push Lyra to the limit before ultimately passing out in a bulldog choke. Even after the referee called for the bell, Lyra wasn’t finished. She attacked Bayley outside the ring and drove her into the steel steps with a Night Wing, leaving her laid out as Saturday Night’s Main Event moved on.
Whether WWE sees Bayley as a veteran helping establish the next generation or still has bigger plans waiting down the road remains to be seen. Right now, though, a vocal section of the fanbase feels one thing is becoming impossible to ignore: Every time Bayley gets close to rebuilding momentum, another loss seems to knock her right back down.
