Jordynne Grace’s long WWE absence had some people convinced they had finally spotted a sign that she might be on her way out. Turns out the supposed social media clue wasn’t really a clue at all.
According to Fightful Select, Grace is still with WWE despite the recent speculation about her status. Some people believed she had suddenly removed “WWE Superstar” from her social media bio, but apparently that wording has actually been gone for months.
“Jordynne Grace is not gone from WWE. WWE stuff has been out of her bio for months.”
Fightful also cleared up another assumption surrounding Grace’s time away from television. She recently used some of that downtime to prepare for a bodybuilding competition, but that apparently isn’t why WWE has kept her off TV.
“Also, the bodybuilding has nothing to do with her being off TV, she has the ability to do that because she’s off TV.”
That lines up with what was reported about Grace back on October 19. During a WrestleVotes Q&A, JoeyVotes said Grace simply wasn’t part of WWE’s creative plans at the time, although that didn’t mean the company had given up on her.
“The thing that I’ve heard recently is she’s not in the creative plans. That doesn’t mean they don’t want plans for her.”
The explanation at the time was pretty simple: SmackDown only has so much television time and WWE already had several women involved in ongoing storylines. Grace just happened to be one of the people left without a seat when the music stopped.
“Numbers thing. How many different female stars can you feature on a two-hour SmackDown? Someone can’t always be featured, and she unfortunately falls under that category.”
WWE had previously discussed pairing Grace with Ivy Nile, with vignettes reportedly filmed for the potential team and the “Iron Built” trademark connected to the idea. Whether WWE eventually dusts that concept off or comes up with something completely different remains to be seen.
For now, Grace’s situation appears to be a lot less dramatic than social media made it seem. She hasn’t secretly walked out the door, her bodybuilding run didn’t cause her WWE absence, and apparently everyone can stop dissecting her bio for clues — at least for now.
