Jim Ross already has his eyes on Wembley Stadium. Just days after undergoing brain surgery, the WWE Hall of Famer says he’s working through rehab and physical therapy with one major goal in mind—being back behind the commentary desk for AEW All In.
Ross took to Twitter on August 18 with another update on his recovery, revealing that he’s getting closer to leaving medical care and returning home. But JR isn’t only thinking about getting home.
“Full day of rehab and physical therapy as I’m one step closer to going home. Appreciate all your well wishes. Goal is to work Wembley Stadium at the end of August.”
That would put Ross on track for AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30, giving him less than two weeks to continue recovering from brain surgery.
Ross underwent the procedure earlier this month to address excess fluid on his brain. He previously explained that doctors planned to drill a hole into his skull and insert a shunt, with tubing running down toward his stomach to help drain the fluid.
The procedure was ultimately successful, with Conrad Thompson revealing afterward that Ross’ daughter had confirmed everything went well. JR then gave fans a considerably more graphic look at what he’d been through by posting a photo of his shaved head, surgical scar and stitches with the simple message:
Now he’s already looking toward the next step. Ross still has rehab and physical therapy ahead of him, and he hasn’t said that he’s officially cleared to work All In. But only days removed from brain surgery, Good Ol’ JR has already picked his target—and it’s a return to work inside Wembley Stadium before August is over.
