The Hardys may be getting ready to go full cinematic again, and Jeff Hardy says they want the next one to be impossible to forget.

While speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Jeff looked back at how The Final Deletion really started. He said the roots came from the old Hardy Show, where he and Matt filmed wild brotherly fights around Cameron, North Carolina, long before cinematic wrestling became a major thing.

“It’s still very exciting for me and we’ve talked about this a lot. Well, I brought it up a lot recently that the first kind of the first versions of The Final Deletion were from the old Matt Hardy the Hardy Show because we had these brotherly fights… and that was kind of like what The Final Deletion ended up being. So, it’s cool that… we’re very close to doing a new cinematic match and we’re super stoked and excited because it’s going to be extremely epic and unforgettable.”

That’s the real hook here. The Hardys aren’t just talking about nostalgia — Jeff says they are “very close” to doing another cinematic match, and both brothers sound fired up about trying to recapture that same weird Hardy magic.

Matt Hardy backed him up and said those old Hardy Show fights were basically the blueprint for The Final Deletion. Instead of keeping everything inside a ring, Matt remembered wanting the brothers to fight across Cameron and turn the whole thing into something bigger, stranger, and more like a movie.

“I really do feel like that was the true blueprint to The Final Deletion because we had that thing. I said, ‘What, Jeff? What if we actually did a fight on the Hardy Show… we’ll drive over to Cameron and we’ll fight there and it’s like we’re fighting all across the city and the county and just make it real epic and crazy and funny and humorous.’ It’s crazy because we ended up doing that with The Final Deletion.”

That idea eventually became one of the most memorable pieces of the Broken Universe, and it later helped shape other productions like Total Nonstop Deletion. Now, years later, The Hardys seem ready to revisit that lane with fresh ideas instead of simply copying what they already did.
