Jasper Troy isn’t wasting any time figuring out what comes next after WWE. Just hours after his NXT release became public, he already has a new ring name and is officially open for business.
Troy took to Twitter following his WWE departure and revealed that he will now be going by Kairo D. Reign. He also included an email address for business inquiries, making it pretty clear that he’s already looking toward his post-WWE career.

His departure apparently wasn’t a sudden decision either. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that WWE determined Troy hadn’t shown enough improvement during his latest six-month evaluation period. NXT talent are regularly evaluated, and those who don’t progress at the level WWE wants can find themselves on the chopping block.
“The thing has always been that when you make it to the NXT roster, you have to show improvement every six months. Every six months you get evaluated, and if you’re not showing what they believe to be great improvement, then you’re on the chopping block.
There’s just so many people. Like, you have no idea just how many people are signed and in that Performance Center right now. It’s 100% a numbers game, and that doesn’t mean Jasper Troy can’t be a huge success in wrestling. They just determined he didn’t improve enough over the last six months, so he is gone.”
There may have been some advance notice on Troy’s end as well. Shortly before his release was confirmed, he posted the cryptic message “30 Days” and pinned it to his Twitter profile. Alvarez later said he had been given the impression that WWE’s decision was actually made some time before it became public.
Troy had already been missing from NXT television for nearly three months, with his last televised match coming against Dion Lennox on June 9. Days before his departure, he also promised that he still had plenty left to prove.
“I have so much to prove, and I ain’t in no rush to prove it. I’ll get mine. I’ll stand on my word and become everything I know I am. I won’t be denied!”
Now we know what name he’ll be trying to prove it under. Jasper Troy’s WWE chapter is over, but Kairo D. Reign is apparently ready to get started as soon as he’s free to do so. Between revealing the new name and already putting out his contact information, he certainly doesn’t appear interested in sitting around after his release.
