Jasper Troy may have just dropped a huge clue about his WWE status.
After spending nearly three months away from NXT television, the 6-foot-5 powerhouse posted a cryptic message on September 4 that has all the signs of an exit. Troy took to Twitter and posted just two words before pinning the message to the top of his profile.
“30 Days”
Troy didn’t explain what the countdown means or outright say that WWE released him, but the message certainly raises that possibility. A 30-day window would line up with the type of post-WWE waiting period associated with NXT talent before they can begin working elsewhere.
The timing also makes this one hard to ignore. Just days earlier, Troy posted another cryptic message after the September 1 episode of NXT came and went without him. At the time, Troy stressed how much he gives to professional wrestling and made it clear that he wasn’t giving up on himself. Troy then made things even more interesting by promising that he would eventually get what he believes he deserves.
“I can hold my head high knowing I give my all—not for a pat on the back or because I expect something in return. This business means something to me.”
“I have so much to prove, and I ain’t in no rush to prove it. I’ll get mine. I’ll stand on my word and become everything I know I am. I won’t be denied!”
Now the “30 Days” post gives those comments a much different feel. Troy’s last NXT television match came on June 9 when he lost to Dion Lennox. He hasn’t wrestled on NXT television since, putting his absence at nearly three months.
WWE has not announced Troy’s release, and Troy hasn’t explicitly said that he is gone. Still, going from saying he “won’t be denied” after months off NXT television to pinning a “30 Days” countdown only three days later is going to raise plenty of questions about whether his WWE run has come to an end.
