Jasper Troy isn’t worried about picking his next major wrestling company just yet. After his WWE release, the newly renamed Kairo D. Reign says his immediate priority is getting booked, providing for his family and proving he can make money for any promotion willing to give him an opportunity.
Speaking to Wrestling Noticias, Troy addressed his wrestling future and the possibility of landing somewhere like AEW. Rather than committing himself to one destination, he made it clear that he wants the next 12 months to establish exactly what Kairo D. Reign can bring to the table.
“I wanted to be different…. I want to show personality, range, prove that I am a main event attraction 1of1 I look at these next 12 months to show the world who KD is why you need to keep in tune with one of the hottest new free agents on the market.”
That means Troy isn’t sitting around waiting for one particular company to call. Wrestling is also how he provides for his family, so his focus right now is building relationships with promoters around the world and becoming someone they can consistently make money with.
“I have a family to provide for I’m focused on gaining opportunities to put food on my table and being a profitable income resource for any promotion that shows interest at this point all my energy is working towards gaining consistency with bookers and promoters across the world.”
Troy certainly hasn’t wasted much time getting started. Shortly after his WWE release became public, he revealed that he would be moving forward under the Kairo D. Reign name and immediately posted his contact information for business inquiries.
His WWE departure came after nearly three months away from NXT television. Bryan Alvarez previously reported that Troy was released after WWE determined he hadn’t shown enough improvement during his latest six-month evaluation period, although he stressed that the decision didn’t mean Troy couldn’t become successful elsewhere.
Troy apparently plans on testing that theory himself. AEW might eventually become part of the conversation, but right now he’s casting a much wider net. The next 12 months are about turning Kairo D. Reign into a main-event attraction and making sure promoters have a financial reason to keep bringing him back.
