The August 4 episode of NXT followed up on a big story from last week with Grayson Waller. The NXT Title picture might not be the same now.
Tony D’Angelo cut a promo on NXT this week, where he brought up Grayson Waller. He didn’t want to speak about him, as he turned his attention to Cruz Montana.
The NXT Champion didn’t get to finish his promo before Grayson Waller jumped on the stage with a microphone. He said that more people have been talking about NXT this week because of him, but they weren’t alone.
Cruz Montana’s music cut Grayson Waller off, and he showed up in the crowd. Montana gave Grayson Waller props for “rattling cages” last week, because he once did the same thing.
Then, Cruz Montana brought up his own story and how he had to spend years proving he belongs in WWE. However, Grayson Waller has spent years trying to get people to notice him. Waller dragged Montana for retelling the same story about his past and demons.
Cruz Montana said that Grayson Waller is funny, but “you only fight for yourself.” Finally, Tony D’Angelo cut both of them off. He told them to talk to Robert Stone and make a #1 contenders match, and he will see the winner at Heatwave.
