WWE wanted fans talking about Lash Legend punching her ticket to SummerSlam. Instead, they’re watching thousands of people hammer the dislike button.
Less than a day after Giulia was flattened in roughly two minutes on the July 31 episode of WWE SmackDown, WWE uploaded the match to YouTube—and the reaction has been brutal. Rather than praising Lash’s win, fans flooded the video with negative reactions, turning the comment section and the like ratio into another battleground over Giulia’s booking.
At the time of writing, the video has racked up 10.5K dislikes compared to just 2.8K likes, meaning nearly eight out of every ten reactions are negative. That tells you everything you need to know.
The outrage actually started the second the match ended. Giulia walked into the final SmackDown before SummerSlam needing one win to qualify for the Women’s Interim Championship Ladder Match. Instead, Lash Legend ran right through her, ending the match before it ever had a chance to feel competitive.
Fans didn’t just dislike the result. They completely rejected it. One of the first reactions summed up the mood almost perfectly: “Why did yall job out Giulia? Terrible booking.” Then the floodgates opened.
“The disrespect for Giulia is f**** insane. Book her better, or send her back to HBK — who actually knew her worth. This s*** getting annoying.”
Lash Legend is officially heading to SummerSlam. But that’s barely the story anymore. The bigger story is what happened after the match ended. WWE put the clip online expecting fans to relive the victory. Instead, viewers turned the upload itself into a running protest over how Giulia was booked. And judging by that like-to-dislike ratio, the backlash isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
