The show opens up with Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett welcoming us as we see the pre-show arrivals of Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton, Michin, B-Fab, Jade Cargill, Lash Legend, Nia Jax, Giulia, R-Truth, Damian Priest and the War Raiders.
Finn Bálor’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Bálor then grabs a mic and starts off by saying he can’t help but think about 2016 whenever they get to this time of the year, when he had simultaneously the best and worst night of his career. Bálor then recalls being told that he had to relinquish his Universal Championship. Bálor then says he spent the last 10 years scratching and clawing, trying to get back the glory of that night. Bálor then says he knows the Bálor Club is behind him and he’s close to getting back.
Sami Zayn’s music then interrupts and Zayn makes his way down to the ring. Zayn says there are some things that he needs to get off his chest. Zayn then says this #1 Contender’s Match should not be happening to begin with. Zayn then says he thinks he should have been added to CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2026. Zayn then says he would love to see Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion again. Zayn then says he already beat Rhodes clean in the ring and knows he can do it again. Zayn then says there’s a big part of him that would like to see CM Punk retain his Undisputed WWE Championship. Zayn then calls Punk the biggest fraud and trash in the company.
Zayn then recalls CM Punk’s pipebomb. Zayn then says Punk has ascended to the high rank of corporate poster boy number 2. Zayn then says it would be a treat for him to take the title back from CM Punk, who stole it from him. Zayn then says he’s got a lot of respect for Finn Bálor. Bálor then calls Zayn out to the ring and says whatever he wants to say he can say face-to-face. Zayn then heaps praise on Bálor and calls him great. Zayn then says Bálor should have been WWE Champion multiple times by now, but tells him to take the pulse of this moment. Zayn then says this moment belongs to him. Zayn then says Bálor had his time and now it’s his time. Zayn then says his agenda is bigger than any of them. Zayn then says it’s about getting justice for himself.
Bálor then asks, “What about justice for Finn Bálor?” Bálor then says this is his moment. Zayn then says Bálor should take the hint that he couldn’t have done the job for 10 years. Bálor then says Zayn took forever to get the smell of that championship. Bálor then says he held the title for one day and had to relinquish it due to injury. Bálor then says Zayn lost the title in 9 days. Zayn then says this almost sounds like fighting words. Zayn then says he would have dropped Bálor right here if he didn’t have respect for him. Zayn then calls himself a good guy. Zayn then says he’s the last remaining good guy here. Zayn then says he’s going to walk away and he will see Bálor at SummerSlam.
GUNTHER then ambushes both men. He then clotheslines Finn Bálor and Sami Zayn. GUNTHER then grabs a microphone and says both these men are a joke. GUNTHER then says he’s the number 1 contender. Adam Pearce then makes his way out with the officials. GUNTHER then walks up Pearce and asks him, “What do I have to do to get what’s rightfully mine?” GUNTHER then says he wonders if he needs to beat Pearce’s a** as well. Finn Bálor and Sami Zayn then attack GUNTHER from behind and a brawl is underway. GUNTHER then wrecks both men again. Nick Aldis then makes his way out to bring the fight to GUNTHER. Aldis then applies a single-leg Boston Crab. The security then rush to the ring to separate them. GUNTHER then hits a huge boot on one of the security guards and Aldis is taken to the back.
We then see Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton in the ring for the first match of the night and B-Fab and Michin follow with Jade Cargill.
Tag Team Match: WWE Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green vs. The Baddies (Michin and B-Fab)
The match starts off with Tiffany Stratton and B-Fab and B-Fab hits a spinning heel kick in the corner. Stratton then hits a basement dropkick. Michin and Chelsea Green then come in. Stratton and Green then gain early control. B-Fab then hits a cheap shot, allowing Michin to hit a big boot. Michin then pounds away at her opponent. B-Fab and Michin then continue the beatdown on Green. B-Fab then hits a clothesline. Michin is the legal woman now and she hits a clothesline and tags B-Fab in. Both women then continue to attack Green in the corner.
Green then tries to fight back and she hits a kick. Both women are down now and Stratton clotheslines Michin and hits a standing dropkick to B-Fab. Stratton then hits an Alabama Slam to Michin. Stratton then heads to the top rope and she hits a Swanton Bomb for a near fall. B-Fab then drags Stratton to the outside and the fight spills to the floor. Jade Cargill then sends Stratton into the post. Back in the ring, Green and Michin are battling it out on the top rope. Green then hits a missile dropkick. B-Fab and Michin then drop Green face-first into the canvas for the win.

After the match, Charlotte Flair makes her way out. Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green then take care of B-Fab and Michin and it is now Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair in the ring. Flair and Cargill then trade right hands in the middle of the ring. Flair then hits a big boot, sending Cargill to the outside.
We then see Nathan Frazer, Axiom and Rey Fenix ask Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh why they are here. JD says they can do what they want and they are looking for Danhausen. Rey Fenix then says he hasn’t seen him. Dominik then says Rey Fenix has been hiding in Mexico. Rey Fenix then says he was training there and is back now. He then says he is ready to fight. Dominik then says Rey Fenix is lucky that the Judgment Day is collecting titles as of late. Rey Fenix then accepts the challenge. JD McDonagh then says he’s going to talk to Adam Pearce to make things official.
We then see Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga talk about how leaving Solo Sikoa was the right thing. They then talk about losing focus on gold and how it takes balls to walk away. They then talk about how family is important. Haku then shows up and he says don’t forget who you are. He then says you are the son of Haku and make them hear us again.
Damian Priest and R-Truth then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and The War Raiders follow.
Title vs. Title Winners Take All Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and R-Truth vs. AAA World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar)
The match starts off with Erik and Damian Priest and both men exchange strikes in the middle of the ring. Priest then tosses Erik in the corner and tags R-Truth in. R-Truth then hits a splash on Erik in the corner. Ivar then tries to attack R-Truth, but R-Truth drops him off the apron. Erik then blasts R-Truth from behind. The fight then spills to the outside. Erik then hits a knee strike to R-Truth. The War Raiders then slam Priest into the barricade. Erik then sends Ivar into R-Truth and Priest, crushing both men.
Back in the ring, Ivar and Erik continue the beatdown on R-Truth. R-Truth then tries to fight back, but Erik hits him with a big boot. Priest then comes in and he hits a series of right hands to Ivar. Priest then hits a shoulder tackle. Priest then hits a flying elbow to Erik. Priest then hits a flying elbow to both Erik and Ivar in the corner. Priest then hits Ivar with a front liner for a near fall. Ivar then drops Priest to the mat and R-Truth breaks the fall. Both teams are now brawling it out. They then get the referee Charles Robinson involved, forcing him to call for the bell.
The Title vs. Title Winners Take All Match ends in a No Contest!
After the match, both teams continue to fight all over the arena. Talla Tonga and Tama Tonga then make their way down to the ring to attack all four men. Talla Tonga then chokeslams R-Truth into the post. Tama Tonga then lays the beatdown on Damian Priest. Back in the ring, Tama Tonga hits a cut throat to Erik. Talla Tonga then chokeslams Damian Priest. Haku then enters the ring with his kids.
We then take a look at what happened at last night’s House show between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk.
We then see Cathy Kelley with CM Punk. She asks Punk about the situation between himself and Cody. Punk says it is a competition and do they need to be friends. Punk then says he has to take care of all comers. Punk then says he will still be champion. Trick Williams then shows up and interrupts the interview and he tells Punk he is coming for the title. Punk then says he wanted to face Trick because he wants new faces. Punk then says when you get to the top of that mountain, he will whoop that Trick.
We then see Nick Aldis and he says it was an honor to be Smackdown General Manager. Aldis then says it wasn’t his first dream. Aldis then says he was a champion and he has faced hall of famers and icons. Aldis then says he was okay with putting the active wrestler behind him and GUNTHER went too far by putting his hands on him.. Aldis then says he has to face GUNTHER like a man.
WWE United States Champion Trick Williams’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Williams introduces himself and says he has finally arrived. Williams then says he’s got a lot on his chest tonight. Williams then says Baron Corbin came back just so he can hate on him. Williams then says Corbin makes him sick. Williams then says no more games and no more sneak attacks from behind. Williams then calls Corbin out to the ring.
Baron Corbin then makes his way out and says while he was away he learned some very valuable lessons. Corbin then says one of those lessons was about patience, something Trick Williams knows nothing about. Corbin then says WWE gave Williams an entrance music, making everyone believe that he is more important than he actually is. Corbin then says that will be Williams’ downfall at SummerSlam. Corbin then says it won’t be fun and it will hurt. Corbin then says he will wrap his arms around Williams’ neck, cutting off the oxygen and blood to his brain. Williams then tells Corbin to shut up and says he knows Corbin isn’t going to do anything.
Trick Williams then wonders if Corbin is here to collect checks. Williams then says the only thing Corbin is collecting is Lemon Pepper Steppers right up his a**. Corbin then asks the WWE Universe if they want a preview of what’s going to happen this Sunday. Corbin then says that’s not going to happen. Corbin then says he doesn’t care what any of them want. Corbin then calls Trick Williams a dumb rookie. Corbin then vows to take the United States Championship at SummerSlam and says there’s nothing in the world Trick Williams can do about it. Williams then says there will be no title taking, but 35,000 people chanting, “Whoop that trick.”
We then get a video package for Hell in a Cell.
Rey Fenix then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and JD McDonagh follows with Dominik Mysterio.
AAA World Cruiserweight Championship Match: Rey Fenix (c) vs. The Judgment Day’s “The Irish Ace” JD McDonagh
The match starts off with Rey Fenix chopping JD McDonagh. McDonagh then hits a right hand. Both men are now going back and forth. McDonagh then misses a moonsault and he rolls out of the ring. Dominik then tries to distract Fenix, opening up the door for McDonagh. Fenix then sends McDonagh to the floor. The fight then spills to the outside. McDonagh then hits a springboard moonsault and both men are down. McDonagh then sends Fenix into the barricade. Both men then exchange slaps. McDonagh then slams Fenix’s lower back into the hardest part of the apron. Dominik then hits a cheap shot behind the referee’s back.
Back in the ring, McDonagh hits a snap suplex. Fenix then hits an arm drag and he follows it up with a leg drop. Fenix then launches himself off the ropes, only to run into a dropkick from McDonagh. Dominik then hits Fenix with a forearm behind the referee’s back again. Fenix then tries to fight back, but McDonagh hits a right forearm. Fenix then superkicks McDonagh. Fenix then hits a crossbody. Both men are now going back and forth. Fenix then hits McDonagh with a brainbuster for a near fall. Fenix then superkicks McDonagh and he follows it up with a springboard cutter. McDonagh then hits a running Spanish Fly for a near fall.
Both men then trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Fenix then hits another kick. Fenix then heads to the second rope, but Dominik gets on the apron and McDonagh regains control by hitting the ropes to crotch Fenix. The referee then sends Dominik to the back. Danhausen’s music then hits and he meets Dominik at the entrance and says he will curse Dominik, but Dominik hits a punch. The minihausens then attacks Dominik and they go to the back. Fenix then hits a running kick from the top rope. Fenix then hits a running double knee strike and a Mexican Muscle Buster for the win.

We then get a video package to hype up Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) was also featured in the clip.
Lash Legend then makes her way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Giulia follows.
Interim WWE Women’s Championship Fatal 5-Way Ladder Match Qualifier: The Irresistible Forces’ “The Boujee Bully” Lash Legend vs. “The Beautiful Madness” Giulia
The match starts off with Giulia hitting a series of kicks. Giulia then applies a modified Octopus Hold, but Lash Legend tries to power her way out of that. Legend then sends Giulia into the mat. Legend then hits a knee for a near fall. Giulia then applies a Guillotine in the middle of the ring, but Legend counters with a Lash Extension for the win.

We then get a video package for Cody Rhodes and Street Fighter.
Cody Rhodes is then making his way down to the ring, but CM Punk cuts him off and makes his way down to the ring first. Punk tells the production team to cut his music. Punk talks about Rhodes putting an elbow on his face. Rhodes then recalls Punk whipping his title back on his face. Rhodes then says Punk knows that he can’t be fraudulent with him. Rhodes then says he’s got to be real with Punk and he sees through Punk sometimes. Rhodes then says Punk was running towards him from the very beginning. Rhodes then says he thinks Punk stole his moment in Chicago.
Punk then says he knew he was going to hurt Rhodes’ feelings. Punk then says he couldn’t see mediocre bums running their mouths backstage. Punk then says he hopes people get angry about what he did. Punk then tells Rhodes to stop talking about being friends and focus on the Undisputed WWE Championship. Punk then says he’s not going to be Rhodes’ friend tomorrow, but it’s up to Rhodes at the end of tomorrow if they are still pals. Punk then says he wants to know who the better wrestler is between them for business purposes. Rhodes then says he thinks they got off on the wrong foot. Rhodes then says this sounds like a CM Punk double talk.
Rhodes then says this isn’t business. Rhodes then says it’s personal. Rhodes then says he knows how personal the Undisputed WWE Championship is to Punk. Rhodes then says this means Punk is the Best in the World. Rhodes then says you are the king and you call the shots. Rhodes then says we have done a lot of friends things. Rhodes then says you said you aren’t here to make friends, you are here to make money. Punk then says he didn’t come back to make friends or lose friends, but if it means losing a friend or a title, it won’t be your night. Rhodes then says one word bothers him. Rhodes then says tomorrow. Rhodes then says you made it clear you are prepared to do what you want to do tomorrow. Rhodes then asks Punk what does he want to do about it tonight.
Punk then drops the mic and the title belt and he takes off his track suit jacket. Punk then lines up for some punches. Rhodes then tosses his mic away and he takes off his jacket. Punk then wants Rhodes to punch him and Rhodes punches Punk. Punk then punches back. Rhodes then hits a running forearm and a clothesline to send Punk over the top rope and to the floor. Rhodes then sends Punk into the announce desk and he rearranges it. Punk then sends Rhodes over the announce desk. Rhodes then trips Punk and Punk trips Rhodes. They then throw punches. Officials then come out to separate them. Punk then gets on the announce desk and Rhodes joins him and they throw punches. They are then separated and that doesn’t last long. Rhodes then goes for a double leg take down and Punk hits some punches. Both men begin brawling again as the show comes to a close.
