Zelina Vega is wasting no time getting back in the ring after WWE showed her the door.
Now going by Xelina, the former WWE star has been announced for House of Glory’s Fallout event in Los Angeles on Friday, September 4. It will be her first wrestling booking since leaving WWE, although her opponent has not been announced yet. The move comes after Vega filed a trademark for “Xelina” on July 20 and confirmed that would be the name she uses moving forward as a free agent.
Vega was released during WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts, ending her latest run with the company. She has still been around the wrestling scene since then, including an appearance at WrestleCon in Minneapolis, and she is also scheduled for a meet and greet with her husband, Malakai Black, in New Jersey on September 13.
Black was released by WWE during the same round of cuts, but he won’t be joining Xelina at the House of Glory show. He is scheduled to be in the United Kingdom that weekend for three PROGRESS Wrestling dates from September 4 through September 6.
House of Glory is also bringing in some familiar names for Fallout. AEW stars Kyle Fletcher and Hook are announced for the card, along with Laredo Kid. Fletcher is set to face House of Glory founder Amazing Red, who also happens to be Xelina’s cousin.
For Xelina, though, the big story is simple — she’s officially stepping back into the ring, and she’s doing it under a brand-new name after WWE.
