Just as GUNTHER made his entrance for the main event of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event inside Madison Square Garden, something in the crowd stole attention for all the wrong reasons.
A fan has gone viral after a TikTok video appeared to show an elderly woman repeatedly making a Nazi salute as GUNTHER walked toward the ring. According to the person who filmed it, several fans immediately confronted the woman—but they claim she kept doing it anyway. The fan who uploaded the clip described watching the moment go down while celebrating a birthday at the show.
“Time changes but people don’t. Smh We were having such a great night celebrating my brother’s birthday and this what we see. After being confronted by several of us in the section she did it a couple more times. This wasn’t ignorance. #WWE #wwe @WWE”
The video has since begun circulating across social media, with viewers criticizing the behavior and discussing what happened during one of WWE’s biggest matches of the night.
The moment took place as GUNTHER headed to the ring alongside Sami Zayn for a match that carried enormous SummerSlam implications. Earlier in the night, Adam Pearce announced that if GUNTHER and Sami won, the Undisputed WWE Championship match at SummerSlam would become a Fatal 4-Way.
Instead, the bout ended in chaos after Nick Aldis got involved, striking GUNTHER with the championship belt and helping CM Punk and Cody Rhodes escape with the victory.
By the time the dust settled, though, fans online weren’t just talking about the controversial finish. They were talking about what happened in the crowd during GUNTHER’s entrance.
