Eva Marie isn’t shutting the door on WWE just yet. The former Superstar has made it clear that she would absolutely consider stepping back into the ring, and she still has plenty of love for the company that helped launch her career.
Eva hasn’t wrestled for WWE since her second run with the company ended in 2021. That comeback saw her return to Monday Night RAW with the Eva-Lution character, eventually becoming involved in a storyline with Piper Niven, who was introduced on WWE television as Doudrop.
During a recent interview with Page Six, Eva was directly asked whether she would ever return to the wrestling ring. She didn’t hesitate with her answer, making it clear that WWE remains an important part of her life.
“Of course, yes and yes. So, WWE will always hold a special place in my heart because, like I said, they took a chance on a no-name kid who never wrestled a day in her life.”
Eva then reflected on how different her background was before entering professional wrestling. While she grew up watching WWE during its WWF days thanks to her three older brothers, she wasn’t someone who had spent years training to become a wrestler. Instead, soccer was her sport before WWE came calling.
“Soccer was my sport, so like when it came to the wrestling ring, and I was a fan, of course, of WWE back in the day when it was WWF because I have three older brothers.”
Despite getting her start without wrestling experience, Eva eventually developed an appreciation for portraying a villain on television. She specifically pointed to her 2021 return as a time when she felt particularly comfortable embracing the character.
“I think like I played a bad guy on So, I was a heel in WWE, and there’s nothing nothing better to play. Like when I went back in 2021, I had the best time ever because I really embraced that character.”
Her comments are interesting considering how her last WWE run played out. Eva returned to RAW in 2021, but her stint was relatively short, and she was released later that year.
As Ringside News previously covered, Eva later revealed that WWE originally had different plans for her final run, including a longer storyline involving her partnership with Piper Niven.
She has also discussed the challenges of balancing WWE training with filming Total Divas, which played a role in her decision to seek additional development during her first stint with the company.
While Eva clearly remains interested in wrestling again, she didn’t reveal any current discussions with WWE or suggest that a comeback is already being planned. For now, it’s simply an open invitation from someone who still has a soft spot for the business.
Still, Eva Marie’s willingness to return is bound to get a reaction. She was never exactly the most universally loved performer during her WWE career, but that was also part of what made her heel character work. Whether WWE would ever bring back the Eva-Lution is another question entirely, but Eva herself is clearly game for another round.
