Eva Marie had plenty to say about her divorce from Jonathan Coyle, but one question about where things stand between them today actually managed to leave the former WWE Superstar struggling for words.
Eva and Jonathan’s marriage ended after a decade together, with the former Total Divas star filing for divorce in December 2024. Their relationship had been featured extensively on WWE’s reality series, making the split particularly interesting for longtime fans who watched their romance play out on television.
During a recent interview with Page Six, Eva discussed moving forward with her life following the divorce. However, things got a little awkward when the interviewer asked whether she and Jonathan were currently on good terms, bad terms, or somewhere in between. Eva admitted that she hadn’t really prepared herself for that question, especially since she hasn’t publicly discussed the divorce very much.
“You know, that’s a Wow. Out of all the things that I would think like to prepare myself because, you know, I’m not really that public with and I nor have I been talking about my divorce.”
After struggling to come up with an answer, Eva kept things pretty simple.
“Um when it comes to that, I mean I wish him well.”
The interviewer suggested that perhaps Eva simply wished him well from a distance, and the former WWE star agreed. She didn’t exactly sound interested in maintaining a close friendship with her ex-husband.
“Yeah, I wish him well over there, and that’s about it, you know?”
Eva then admitted that the question had genuinely caught her off guard. For someone who spent years speaking in front of cameras on WWE television and Total Divas, being left without an immediate answer was a pretty unusual situation.
“Yeah. I don’t know. I’m stumped. I’m like, ‘Damn, girl, I am not lost for words.’ And you have just stumped me because that one is like you know now that I you have my wheels turning it’s it’s more so I’m trying to find the word where it’s like there’s no real bad blood in in me but I also have it’s not like we’re best friends or I’m calling them up you know.”
That response says quite a bit about where things stand. Eva wasn’t accusing Jonathan of doing anything wrong, and she made it clear that she doesn’t harbor serious resentment toward him. At the same time, she wasn’t pretending they’re still close friends who regularly check in on each other.

Eva has also spoken about why she chose to keep the divorce private rather than turn the situation into a public spectacle.
Now that the marriage is officially behind her, Eva seems perfectly comfortable wishing Jonathan the best without keeping him involved in her everyday life. She may not have found the perfect words immediately, but she eventually made her position pretty clear: there’s no major bad blood, but they’re not exactly buddies either.
