R-Truth is finally speaking out after his scary injury on WWE SmackDown, and while the veteran Superstar says he’s doing okay, he’s also sharing a hospital photo that has fans concerned about what happened during his match against Damian Priest.
On October 19, 2026, R-Truth took to Twitter to address his condition following the October 16 episode of SmackDown. Truth thanked fans for their support and shared a photo of himself wearing a hospital gown while sitting in front of an MRI machine, smiling and giving a thumbs-up. Truth started by reassuring everyone that he’s doing okay and appreciating the overwhelming support he’s received since the incident.
“I AM OK, Thank you ALL for your support, concerns and get well wishes , Wow, It truly feels amazing to feel and be loved I’m grateful for you all.”
Of course, Truth couldn’t resist throwing in a little humor at Damian Priest’s expense. He joked that his former tag team partner nearly killed him during their match before making it clear that he intends to return.
“…On 10/16/2026 I almost passed away… Damien Priest tried to kill me,, I didn’t think he was ThAt serious… But ok, I’ll be back”
The update comes after R-Truth was legitimately injured during his match against Damian Priest on October 16. Truth landed awkwardly after delivering a missile dropkick from the top rope, prompting the referee to check on him and stop the match before its planned conclusion.
Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez previously stated on October 18 that Truth appeared to be doing all right but was expected to undergo further evaluation this week. Truth’s latest photo shows him at a medical facility, although he hasn’t disclosed the exact nature of his injury or revealed the results of any testing.
The injury came during an already heated rivalry between Truth and Priest, who had been feuding since their tag team partnership fell apart. What was supposed to be another chapter in their storyline ended with a legitimate medical concern instead.
Now Truth is giving fans some much-needed reassurance while making it clear that he isn’t finished with WWE just yet. The hospital photo might look concerning, but his message was positive, and he’s already talking about getting back into the ring. There’s still no official timetable for his return, but at least Truth hasn’t lost his sense of humor.
