El Hijo del Vikingo isn’t wrestling yet, but he’s already counting down the months. The AAA star has shared another look at his recovery, and this time he even revealed where he believes he is in the process.
Vikingo took to Instagram to post a new rehabilitation video as he continues recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL. Rather than showing himself back in the gym, the latest clip focused on treatment, with medical equipment being used on his knee while he jokingly added a car engine sound effect over the video. He revealed that he’ll be ready in seven months.
“The bad girl has already started, 7 more months and she will be like new.”
It’s another encouraging milestone for the former AAA Mega Champion, who has spent the past two months documenting his recovery after undergoing surgery. Earlier this month, Vikingo shared footage of himself working through rehab exercises, including squats and strength training, while thanking his therapist, WWE, AAA and his wife for helping him through the recovery process. At the time, he described it as a productive week and made it clear he was happy with how rehab was progressing.
“A very productive week thanks to my friend @ladytsportstherapy for the rehab. Thanks to @wwe and @luchalibreaaa for the support. Thanks to my wife @aleidis_oficial for always being by my side supporting me through this process.”
Vikingo’s injury forced WWE to pull him from his scheduled AAA Latin American Championship defense against E.K. Prosper on the June 30 episode of NXT. He later underwent surgery, with Dave Meltzer reporting at the time that the expected recovery timeline was around nine months.
While there’s still a long road ahead before Vikingo can return to the ring, his latest update suggests he’s already looking beyond the surgery itself and toward the finish line. If everything continues to go according to plan, the countdown is officially on.
