WWE NXT is getting a new sound, and Shawn Michaels just made it official. Drake’s “Shabang” has been named the new opening theme song for the Tuesday night brand.
Michaels announced the change on social media ahead of the October 6 episode of NXT, revealing that Drake’s track will now open the show. Michaels wrote:
“Nobody does it quite like this crew. New music. Same show-stealing Superstars. ‘Shabang’ by @Drake is the new opening theme for #WWENXT. Turn it up!!”
“Shabang” comes from Drake’s ICEMAN album and replaces “Millions From Now” by Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz as NXT’s opening theme.
The move also gives NXT another major music name tied directly to the brand. Drake has shown plenty of interest in WWE over the years and was in attendance for Elimination Chamber 2025, where John Cena stunned the wrestling world by turning heel and aligning himself with The Rock and Travis Scott.
Now Drake’s connection to WWE is getting a lot more permanent, at least on Tuesday nights. Every NXT broadcast will start with “Shabang” as the company gives the show a fresh presentation without changing the talent fans are tuning in to see.
Drake already had the WWE fandom credentials, but now one of his songs is officially part of NXT every single week. That is a pretty massive placement for “Shabang,” and WWE clearly believes the track fits the energy it wants around the brand.
