Daniel Garcia walked away with a huge win on the September 12 episode of AEW Collision, surviving a packed field to win The Butcher Battle Royale in honor of the late Andy Williams. The victory also means $100,000 will be donated to a charity of Garcia’s choice in Williams’ name.

Garcia entered the match alongside Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, but things quickly turned into chaos with Eddie Kingston, Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, The Beast Mortos, Top Flight and several others all fighting to stay alive.

The field eventually got chopped down in a hurry. Kingston eliminated Castagnoli after rocking him on the apron, only for Josh Alexander to dump Kingston moments later. That left Garcia and Alexander as the final two.

Alexander nearly had it won after drilling Garcia with a German suplex and a C4 Spike before throwing him over the top rope. Garcia managed to hang on, pull Alexander onto the apron and catch him with a boot. Garcia then got back inside, hit the opposite ropes and blasted Alexander with a Busaiku Knee that sent him crashing to the floor.

That was enough to give Garcia the win and end an emotional night of tributes to Williams, who was remembered throughout Collision by friends, former teammates and members of the AEW locker room.

The win carried a lot more weight than a normal battle royal, with Garcia now getting the chance to direct a $100,000 donation to a charity of his choice in Andy Williams’ name.
