Ludwig Kaiser may not be facing any major travel problems with WWE after all, because prosecutors in his Florida battery case are apparently not planning to fight his request to continue traveling.

Ringside News has learned that Kaiser’s attorney filed a supplemental motion requesting permission for both out-of-state and international travel while the misdemeanor case remains active in Orange County, Florida. The key development in the updated court filing is that Assistant State Attorney Shaylynne Kotch has indicated the state does not object to the request. The filing states:

“Since the initial filing of the Motion to Travel, undersigned counsel communicated with Assistant State Attorney Shaylynne Kotch, who indicated no objection to this motion.”

The supplemental filing then asks the court to formally approve the travel request.

“WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, the Defendant respectfully requests this Honorable Court to enter an Order allowing him to travel out of the State of Florida and internationally.”

That is a major development because Kaiser — whose real name is Marcel Barthel — works a WWE schedule that requires constant travel for television tapings, premium live events, overseas tours, and media appearances.

The timing is especially important because Kaiser currently has a featured AAA match scheduled for May 30 in Mexico. Wrestling under the El Grande Americano mask, Kaiser is booked to face Original El Grande Americano, played by Chad Gable, in a Mask vs. Mask match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes.

The match is being promoted as the payoff to the storyline rivalry between the two characters, and the newest filing now makes it sound very likely Kaiser will still be able to make the trip.

Ringside News previously reported that Barthel turned himself in on May 20 after learning an active arrest warrant had been issued against him. He later posted $1,000 bond.

The misdemeanor battery case stems from an alleged April 23 incident at the Paramount on Lake Eola Apartments in Orlando. Investigators previously stated probable cause was established through witness statements, visible injuries, surveillance footage, and a photo lineup identification.

Barthel has since entered a written plea of not guilty while his legal team continues filing motions connected to the case.

With prosecutors now declining to oppose the travel request, it appears increasingly likely Kaiser will continue traveling for WWE and AAA while the legal process continues behind the scenes.

Do you think WWE made the right call by continuing to use Ludwig Kaiser on television during the ongoing case? Let us know in the comments.
