WWE’s plans for a women’s match at Sunday Night’s Main Event may have taken a pretty big turn.
An earlier report indicated that WWE had loosely discussed Fatal Influence facing Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley in a six-woman tag team match for the September 6 show. Now, a new update from TRNBCKL Gold has a completely different trio lined up across the ring.
According to the latest internal information, WWE has discussed Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley facing Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab instead. Even more interesting, that version of the match is currently expected to be announced during the August 28 episode of SmackDown.
The match has not been officially announced on WWE television yet, so things can still change before Friday’s show airs. However, Charlotte, Alexa and Tatum remain on the same side in both versions of the planned match. The big difference is who WWE has them facing. The earlier idea had Fatal Influence getting the spot. WrestleVotes’ JoeyVotes said during a Q&A that the group had been discussed for the Atlanta card.
“I do know the women’s trios match—Fatal Influence vs. Alexa, Tatum, and Charlotte—has been loosely discussed to make that card. They are treating this event as a PLE-lite.”
Now Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab appear to be the working opponents instead. That creates a legitimate conflict between the two sets of information, and until WWE announces the match on television, there’s no guarantee which version will actually make the final card.
Sunday Night’s Main Event already has Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton and Bron Breakker vs. Oba Femi scheduled for September 6 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Baron Corbin will also face Lil Yachty in a five-minute challenge with a United States Championship opportunity for Trick Williams hanging in the balance. WWE clearly has plans to add more to the show, but the women’s side of the card appears to still be moving around behind the scenes.
For now, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley appear to be heading toward a six-woman tag match. The real question is whether they’ll be staring across the ring at Fatal Influence or Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab when WWE finally makes it official.
