Brie Bella’s SummerSlam shoulder injury has already claimed its first casualty, and fans are not gonna be happy about this at all.
Less than a day after being taken to the hospital following Night One of SummerSlam, Brie has officially been pulled from a scheduled SummerSlam TakeOver appearance in Minneapolis, confirming that the injury is serious enough to keep her away from fans while doctors continue evaluating her condition. Fans who purchased the affected meet-and-greet were notified by email that Brie would no longer be attending.
“Hello, Due to an injury, Brie Bella will be unable to appear at SummerSlam TakeOver. This change affects your Team Up Photo Op.”
The injury happened when Jacy Jayne crashed into Brie with a cannonball that drove her shoulder into the steel ring steps. Brie immediately grabbed at her right shoulder and noticeably scaled back her involvement for the remainder of the match, including the post-match attack on Paige.
Nikki Bella also addressed the situation, saying her sister was dealing with significant pain while doctors continued trying to determine the full extent of the damage.
“She’s doing okay. She’s in a lot of pain. They are still determining what’s going on, and Brie will say what’s going on. I’ve been told to zip it.”
As of now, WWE has not announced an official diagnosis or a timetable for Brie’s return. What is clear, however, is that the injury is already affecting her SummerSlam weekend schedule, raising even more questions about how quickly WWE will be able to continue The Bella Twins’ newly launched rivalry with Paige.
