Brett Lauderdale just gave Vince Russo one hell of a sendoff after his Juggalo Championship Wrestling run came to an end. The GCW promoter took to X after Russo announced his departure from JCW and made it clear that this one hit him on a personal level.
Russo revealed on September 22, 2026 that he and Violent J had agreed to part ways after roughly a year together in JCW. Russo admitted he had been unhappy for a while, but stressed that the split was amicable and that it was simply time to move on.
Lauderdale then looked back at just how crazy his own connection to Russo turned out to be. He went from being a teenager watching Monday night wrestling that Russo helped write to appearing on camera with him 27 years later in JCW. Lauderdale wrote:
“As a teen, I was mesmerized by the wrestling i watched on monday nights, which was written in part by vince russo
27 years later i actually appeared on camera with him in a skit on @jcwlunacy
wrestling is crazy
i tip my cap & send my respect to a sports entertainment legend 🤝”
That’s a pretty wild full-circle moment. Lauderdale went from watching Russo’s work as a teenager to eventually sharing the screen with him, and Russo’s JCW exit gave him a reason to stop and recognize just how strange wrestling careers can become.
