Braun Strowman’s first match since his WWE exit is officially in the books—and the former Universal Champion looked like he hadn’t lost a step.

After spending more than a year away from in-ring competition following his WWE release in 2025, The Monster Among Monsters made his wrestling return at Great Lakes Championship Wrestling’s Blizzard Brawl event on July 12—and he looked like he hadn’t missed a day.

Strowman teamed with Kal Herro in a 3-on-2 handicap match against Tony Evans, Drew Hernandez and Tommy Boy, giving fans their first chance to see the former WWE star back between the ropes in 15 months. For someone who had been out of action that long, Strowman didn’t show much ring rust.

He bulldozed through his opponents with the power game fans have come to expect, flattening bodies with running clotheslines and shoulder tackles before bringing the crowd to its feet with a massive double chokeslam. He even hit the ropes with ease, showing little sign of the lengthy layoff, before Herro finished things off with a knee strike to pick up the win.

The comeback comes after Strowman made it clear he hasn’t ruled out wrestling again on a bigger stage. Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Strowman said he’d happily return to WWE—and even step into the ring with Oba Femi—if the company came calling with the right offer.

“Money’s right, I’m down to do about anything… You want to back that Brinks truck up, dump some gold bullion on my porch? I’ll come whip that young kid’s ass real quick.”

Whether this weekend’s return is the start of a full-fledged comeback or simply a one-night appearance remains to be seen. But one thing became pretty clear at Blizzard Brawl: after 15 months away, Braun Strowman can still throw people around, still gets a huge reaction and still looks every bit like The Monster Among Monsters.
