Booker T has no patience for people taking shots at R-Truth, and he made it clear he thinks the criticism says more about them than it does about Truth.

Speaking on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Booker T reacted to people who try to dismiss R-Truth’s career or make negative comments about what he has accomplished. Booker argued that Truth’s long run in WWE is not something anyone should downplay, especially considering how rare it is to stay relevant in wrestling for decades.

“Look at R-Truth—sometimes when I hear people nag or say something negative about him and what he’s done throughout his career, this awesome career that he’s had, it really lets me know what kind of people they are.”

Booker then got more direct about where he believes that criticism comes from. He suggested the negativity is rooted in jealousy, especially from miserable people who wish they had Truth’s position, longevity, and success.

“It lets me know there are a lot of miserable people out there who wish they could be in R-Truth’s spot more than anything.”

Booker also explained why he respects Truth so much as a performer. He pointed to Truth’s ability to turn his personality, timing, and entertainment value into a steady role on WWE television for decades, which is not easy in a business known for constant changes and pressure.

“So I give R-Truth so much credit for being able to parlay his success over so many years—decades of success inside that square circle and on camera. Because this job, man, it’s a hectic job. There are a lot of people out there who just wish negative on you.”

Booker then focused on what makes Truth’s career different from many others. He said Truth did not simply survive in WWE because someone handed him a role; he created a specific lane for himself that felt unique, memorable, and built around what only he could do.

“But like I said, R-Truth has done something that not too many people can do. And R-Truth created that on his own. He literally created a spot on the show that was made for him and him only.”

Booker focused on how Truth’s success comes from understanding how to handle the wrestling business. For Booker, Truth’s career is proof that he knew how to adapt, stay valuable, and keep connecting on camera across different eras.

“Not too many people can do that. Not too many people have the wherewithal, the understanding, and the know-how to navigate this business the way R-Truth has. So I give that dude so much credit, man. I really do.”

R-Truth has built one of the most unique careers in WWE history, and Booker T clearly believes the criticism thrown his way misses the bigger picture. Truth carved out a role that fit him perfectly, stayed relevant across different eras, and remained valuable in a business where very few people last that long.
