Baron Corbin is back in WWE, but he is not returning with the exact same identity fans remember.

After Corbin made his return on the July 10 episode of SmackDown, WWE released new merchandise revealing that “Nomad” is now part of his presentation. The shirt features Corbin’s name across the top with “Nomad” displayed beneath the main design, confirming that WWE is carrying over the nickname he established after leaving the company.

Baron Corbin’s New WWE Nickname Revealed After SmackDown Return

Corbin’s first WWE run ended in November 2024 after more than 12 years with the promotion. He later began working as Bishop Dyer in MLW and used “The Nomad” as part of his post-WWE character.

That name had already become a major clue before his return. WWE recently filed to trademark “The Nomad” for wrestling and entertainment services, which sparked even more speculation that Corbin was on his way back.

Those signs paid off on SmackDown. Corbin appeared during Carmelo Hayes’ match against United States Champion Trick Williams and pulled Hayes from the top rope. He then attacked both men and planted them with the End of Days, leaving the match without a clean finish.

The new merchandise now gives fans another piece of the puzzle. Corbin appears to be keeping the harder-edged “Nomad” identity he developed outside WWE rather than simply slipping back into one of his previous characters.

With Corbin taking out both Hayes and Williams, WWE may also be setting up a three-way fight for the United States Championship. Whatever comes next, the company has already revealed the name attached to this new chapter of his career.
