WWE SmackDown rolled into the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma this week. Nobody expected to see Baron Corbin make a shocking return during this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, but that’s exactly what happened.

Baron Corbin was released by WWE on November 1, 2024, after the company decided not to renew his contract following a 12-year run. He had not appeared for the company since then, but that changed during SmackDown.

Trick Williams faced Carmelo Hayes in a match that added another chapter to their long history against each other. After all, the two were friends and then enemies during their NXT days. During the match, Hayes appeared to be closing in on a victory over the United States Champion, but the match did not reach a normal finish.

As Carmelo Hayes moved toward the end of the match, Baron Corbin suddenly appeared on the apron. He grabbed Hayes and pulled him down before entering the ring.

Baron Corbin then hit an End of Days, leaving the crowd stunned. Fans immediately began chanting “holy sh*t” as Corbin posed for the WWE Universe for the first time in more than a year.

We will keep a close eye on this situation, because you never know what WWE will do at this point. Baron Corbin’s return was certainly not on our bingo card for the road to SummerSlam.
